Just out: new New Jersey state sea-level rise assessment

Under current global emissions trends, New Jersey is likely to experience 1.5-2.5 ft of sea-level rise between 2005 and 2070, 2.2-3.8 ft by 2100 (or 2.2-4.5 ft, considering potential ice-sheet collapse).

My Senator @durbin.senate.gov has gone from our elder statesman, a wise and stalwart defender of all of Illinois’ citizens down to “capitulator-in-chief”. I used to respect him but he has terribly tarnished his reputation in these last 10 months with some weak ass votes.
Durbin said critics of his vote “need to understand how the Senate works”

If Chuck Schumer was a stronger leader, he would have been able to convince most of these senators to hold the line.

I’m terribly disappointed in him.

The average SNAP benefit per month is $177 a person.

The average ACA benefit per month is up to $550 a person.

People want us to hold the line for a reason. This is not a matter of appealing to a base. It’s about people’s lives.

And working people want leaders whose word means something to them.

If your senator doesn’t take messages, send them a note via their online contact forms.
Call the United States Capitol switchboard at (202) 224-3121 and they will connect you with your senator's office.

If you're represented by one of the squishier centrists, be sure to make a call. Now.
Sounds like the squishes in the senate caucus are ready to pull the plug with no ACA changes. This is real. If you want to register your opinion you shld call yr senator in the next hour. They not only want to reopen w/nothing. They want cover from their colleagues who still want to hold out.

Bovino is the worst of us. An enabler of hate who executes unlawful orders joyfully and relishes in his little bit of fleeting power. A snake. A rat. All the worst metaphors apply here.
Lawyers are about to play portions of U.S. Border Patrol commander Greg Bovino's deposition.

In Salem, as in most Massachusetts communities, 90% of residential lots are smaller than current zoning’s minimum lot size requirements.

In other words, most of the homes that make up the neighborhoods we love today couldn’t be built under modern zoning rules.

Read this thread. Don’t look away. Keep your eyes and the pressure on Broadview.
A family friend was telling us about what her husband shared about his experience in Broadview before he was deported back to Mexico. She's been sharing to friends and family because she's just in disbelief & horror what her husband told her. She wasn't able to talk to him until he was in Mexico.

Make no mistake: The money is available to fund SNAP during this shutdown. Trump is making a choice to withhold it.
