Dad Advice of the Day: use a cold chisel and mallet to break up solidified salt.
I know how to say Cointreau because of Aubrey Plaza.

There is a post circulating on Bluesky encouraging the moving of a frozen turkey straight into a pot of hot oil. We are combating this misinformation the best way we know how - through the power of dance music.

Why do so many drivers seem surprised when they approach a stop sign as if they don’t know most Chicagoland streets have a stop sign at every intersection?

You ever think about just about everybody is *really* good at something and much of it is timing and exposure like parents enrolling them at the right time for the kid to take it up and end up among the best?

The city of Broadview and its leaders should understand if you’re going to allow government agencies outside of your municipal operation, it will open up “outside” protesters. Are we only suppose to protest within our community even if it’s a county, state, or federal agency?

Dear @davidstruett.bsky.social and @chicago.suntimes.com:

IT IS NOT A BAILOUT.

So much for projecting itself as the newspaper for the people.

Imagine how much fuel, and maintenance cost, drivers would save if they simply drove slower and coasted then slightly braked to stop.
Finally driving my first EV and can’t be the only middle aged dad now *obsessed* with regenerative braking and getting as many miles as humanly possible.

E loves butternut squash soup and he's getting some serious nutrient load from it. Butternut squash, onions, carrots, garlic, shallots all roasted and blended with coconut milk and broth in the end.

It is absolutely fucking wild that the Chicago Sun Times with union labor refers to the transit bill as a "bailout."
CTA planning 24-he service on the Orange Line!

Exciting news. Also, lame to see Fran characterizing transit funding as a “bailout”. You’ll NEVER hear that terminology used for roads and highways.
