A view of an electrical vault and conduit during construction of the West Side Sewage Treatment Works, one of two treatment plants that were combined and eventually became the Stickney Water Reclamation Plant (WRP), on July 27, 1928. Stickney WRP currently serves over 2.3 million people and cleans an average of 700 million gallons of wastewater per day and has the capacity to treat 1.4 billion gallons per day.
