And all the #Autistic women out there, both diagnosed and self-diagnosed, who have been called weird and awkward more than once, keep being your lovely selves and keep asking the hard questions and telling the truth. We need honesty and acceptance more than anything else these days. ♥
How many autistic kids (and adults) have been driven into meltdowns not because they did anything wrong, but because their echolalic communication needs were misunderstood? Here's to all of us trying harder and doing better. TY @jessdiaryofamom.bsky.social and crew.

This is starting to get beyond ridiculous. If they go ahead with this, are they ready to kick out millions of people from this country? Because I don't they have the means to do so.

They're tired of the "fake news" and this and that other "hoax"? Well, I'm fed up with the gaslighting. And I have a feeling that I'm not the only one.

I'll never complain about my job ever again. Wow! That was dangerous work, indeed!
November 10, 2025 at 10:05 PM
My dream: To have a job that allowed me to not work for over a month and still sent me paychecks, with a 6-figure annual salary. Wouldn't that be nice, instead of having to go to work sick many times because if I were to miss one single day of work I'd risk losing my job and not feeding my family.

Just a reminder that Walmart scams more than $2 billion off the American taxpayer every single month because of SNAP. If you think mega corporations are not the true welfare queens, think again.

42 million hungry Americans are a product of a system where big biz grifts and GOP blame the poor.

At this point, it's good vs. evil. And one day, we will all be judged one way or another based on which side we decide to be and the kind of world we will be leaving to our children and their children's children. Which side will you choose?

"But if that were true then your life would be impossible" is an entire genre of dismissals of disabled people's experiences.

It's not that they don't understand when we say how hard it is. It's that they can't believe we're still functioning at all of it's that hard.
"how do they ever get anything done, then?"

And yea, all praise to ADHD folks for ever getting anything done because it seems it would be impossible without that motivation and reward. The fact that you are ever able to do anything is superhuman!

Next headline: "Sex Causes #Autism "
🙄 ( sighs )
Those "Covid in pregnancy causes autism!!" headlines are misleading AF plus use autistic people as a jump scare—instead of emphasizing that Covid vaccines protect pregnant people AND babies from actual bad outcomes. @ejwillingham.bsky.social, in our latest newsletter:

Autism and Covid infection during pregnancy: Guess what??
The risks of Covid infection in pregnancy unrelated to autism are sufficient to reinforce public health measures and messaging to prevent Covid infection during pregnancy – including vaccination.

Went to the store to buy new underwear for my kid. I had to fight to hold my tears back when I saw how expensive they are now compared to a year ago, and especially when I remembered that some can spend money on building a ballroom when many of us have to choose between going commando or eating.

Whenever people complain about the number of folks relying on food stamps, it is worth reminding them that SNAP is, by too large of a degree, a subsidy for corporations that refuse to pay a living wage and their political allies who reject public policy prescriptions to reduce income inequality.

Probably the most important perspective on the "profound autism" debate I've read to date. Because it's written by a disabled autistic man who would absolutely qualify for the diagnosis if it were ever made into a thing.

My list fluctuates between 16 and 22, depending on whether they are raw, cooked, or steamed. 🫣 At the top, liver (kidneys should be there, too. It's my #2 most hated one.) 🤢 And many to which I'm allergic are not even on this list.

How about you? How many you got?

#Autism sensory overload.
I got 9. What about you? 🤔

Things we can change: Too many autistic people learn—often quite early in life—that they have no choice other than to submit to discomforts, and also people in their lives may not even register or believe that their distress is real. At TPGA:
