elon fucking killed a major piece of not only driving game discussion, but also sheer inherent word-of-mouth advertising. it has no doubt kneecapped many small- and mid-sized titles and i can't even tell what big games are popping off right now unless they have a Little Guy people wanna doodle

back in 2003 you could play "Parlor Games" with your friends over steam while in-game. it was later removed because steam's initial launch was pretty rough and never returned when the friends system was relaunched in 06

Balatro's music sounds completely different if pulled straight from the game data: this is because in-game, the engine plays the music files slowed down by 30% (at 0.7x speed)
