So, people are going to have to pass A level english to live here are they? I hope they study what I did at A level, Translations by Brian Friel, about the colonial evil of the English forcing people to adopt the English language

Write that book.
Paint that picture.
Share that poem.

You never know—someone out there might just really need your art to keep going.

So keep creating. You’ve got something special. ❤️

A little while ago, my parents' cat Bridget went missing. As the weeks dragged on, they became extremely worried. My dad devised a way to distract himself: he began to paint Bridget's adventures, imagining her travelling through time and popping up in some of art and music's most iconic scenes.

I already shared this but now tagging Melissa by quoting her! A GREAT episode and even tho I've been published since 2019 I still learned new things about how advances/contracts/royalties worked! I am always so appreciative when people will share advance info! Too much silence in this industry!
I have a new podcast episode out today and it’s all about SIGNING YOUR FIRST BOOK DEAL! Have a listen if you’re interested!

Always nerve-racking when an author you admire reads your work so to see this had made my day 🥰 Thank you so much @laurapauthor.bsky.social
#45ThingstodoBeforeYoure45 is an utterly relatable Audible original. It’s about midlife and covers all the bases - perimenopause, relationship drama, juggling kids and career, ailing parents. You’re sure to find something that you identify with. And to laugh as much as you nod.

Don't give up.

well. yes. I agree it’s not the AUTHOR’s job to run around trying to get blurbs for marketing and publicity, as this is not their job or skill set. but the publisher? the people in charge of Marketing And Publicity? perhaps this might be mysteriously linked to them somehow?

Some thoughts on handling rejection:

Rejection is wired into the creative process and longevity and success is mostly down to how you deal with this one issue.
