A big reason I went mostly vegan is to reduce what negative impact I have on the environment and be more conscious of how things I consume are made, shipped, etc. This #Veganuary I'm not just asking non-vegans to try the diet, but everyone to start considering these things and make adjustments.

Got 3 roguelite games from the Steam Sale and they're all bangers. The King is Watching (tower defense/city builder), Absolum (beat-em-up), and BallxPit (Peggle Survivors). All get a huge thumbs up from me. Add in Hades 2 and Halls of Torment, there was some greats in the genre in '25!

Watched Wake Up Dead Man last night and really enjoyed it! Glass Onion was fun but this is more my speed. The acting was terrific! Especially Josh O'Connor and Glenn Close.
Can't wait till the next Benoit Blanc mystery!

Continuing with the my favorite albums of 2025. Have a look at my "grid" for previous entries. And tell me about your favorite music (or video game, books, movies, series, whatever of the year) I did not expect a song from Italy's Sanremo song contest and Eurovision entry to resonate so strongly and become one of my favorite songs. But I guess it actually was on my bingo card. Lucio Corsi's "Volevo Essere Un Duro" (I Wanted to be a Tough Guy) is a song I think that anyone can relate to and enjoy. And it's so melodic and catchy. A must listen! The rest of the album is fantastic as well. Lucio has a singer/songwriter, rock and roll style so much his own and a magical and whimsical vibe to his lyrics and music. Even if you don't speak Italian there's so much to love in these songs. Striking melodies and phrasing, excellent instrumentation, charismatic and charming singing, and lots of fun! I got to see him in concert this summer and he is such a wholesome and unique performer who I think will eventually go down as one of the most loved Italian singer songwriters. Death Stranding 2 or Ghost of Yotei? I loved the first of both the games and found a sale to get a nice discount (€50 using a coupon). Leaning Yotei since ps5 exclusives are getting discounted much less often.

Reason #4269 why I don't like playing online (especially with randoms): dude just 'A'ed through all the story bits and rushed everything. Idc if the story is dumb, I still like to listen to/read it. Devs should always have a 'do not skip' option.
Won't be doing that again.

A friend recommended me this album the other day and damn it's one of the very best metal albums of the year! Ebb and flow, emotional songwriting, great musicians, and vocals are off the hook whether clean, growls, or rabid goblin.

Today's favorite albums 2025 post. A massive favorite of mine and I can't recommend it strongly enough.

Continuing with my favorite albums of 2025 posts. Have a look at my "grid" for previous entries. And don't hesitate to share your favorites with me! The Mountain Goats have come a long way since their early days. Gone are the days of John Darnielle and an acoustic guitar singing about intriguing, tragic characters and doomed or soon-to-be doomed love over copious amounts of cassette tape hiss. Getting more and more lush in their instrumentation and diverse in the songwriting over the years it seemed to have culminated on their previous record, Jenny From Thebes, which had strong stage musical vibes and was quite bombastic for the Goats standards. Well, tuning down the bombast, focusing a strong narrative, and getting a little help from Lin Manuel Miranda, John and Co. have pretty much written a full-on musical, just without stage with their latest record. So, Goats. Stage production when? 😉 Anyhoo, Through This Fire Across From Peter Balkan is an album about a fishing ship gone wrecked at sea and three survivors final days washed up on a nearby island. Tragic, yes. This is a Goats album. But, it never feels depressing nor tragic. With John's amazing storytelling abilities and the rest of the band's music writing skills, you get an album steeped in hope, courage, perseverence, nostalgia, love, and above all, empathy. And a touch of humor 😀 Every song is wonderful. Engaging from the gorgeous orchestral instrumental "Overture" to the closing track tying the album up. This is an album I'd recommend to just about anyone who simply enjoys good music regardless of genre (but does have a soft spot for musicals). I know I said I'm not going to rank these recommendations, buuut… there are two albums in particular that really hit me strong this year. This is one of them 😉
