Leftist Latino working at the intersection of gaming and crypto

I think one underdiscussed reason that people are gravitating towards these games is because they ask so little of your life *going forward*, too.

Most of them don’t have XP, or battle passes.

For almost any larger multiplayer effort that’s coming out these days, who could claim the same?
Don't call 'em "friendslop": Just because low-budget games like Lethal Company and Peak are popular and played with friends doesn't mean they're slop, Bee Wertheimer writes. www.endlessmode.com/article/not-...

Leftists and OG crypto people agree on a lot of the same problems and canonical events that caused them - notably Bretton Woods. They disagree on solutions but we shouldn’t understate how impactful it is to agree on a set of problems in today’s world. This gets me out of bed

It’s crazy that we’re seeing an end to Habeas Corpus for Latinos and I’m told to be worried about getting cancelled for playing a crypto game once

my general thought after seeing a bunch of playstation reveals is that i sure love weirdo indie games that dare to not look like the same five games

Been noodling around with the idea of more gaming co-ops that include players and give more revenue to devs.

as someone who's been making games in RUST on @makegamesfast.bsky.social I think it's great for high level programming and low level programming
Who else considers Rust to be surprisingly high level and suitable for any kind of app programming, despite its systems programming roots?

ADTs, pattern matching and Rust's implementation of iterators often make me choose Rust even for apps where performance or safety aren't important.

this is part of what we're hoping to do with @makegamesfast.bsky.social in web assembly too!
JavaScript lifting too much weight in your React Native app? Let WebAssembly do the heavy work! Polygen compiles WebAssembly modules to native Turbo Modules — no interpreter, no JIT, just speed.

A lot of people start companies because they want to lead, build something from scratch, and rally like-minded people. A 21st-century trap is thinking this only applies to startups—social movements, subcultures, and even online communities operate the same way.
