Thank you for this excellent reporting. Please use your broad audience to educate on Kushner’s role in crafting this deal, which is just breaking. This seems a huge, unsurprising but underreported factor which points directly to likely Trump family enrichment through it. 1/

Nice review of the deluxe edition of Prince's "Around the World In a Day" that puts it in context. It followed Purple Rain in 1985 and it's the weird middle child between that album and Sign of the Times. But there are gems here.

I feel dirty after reading the Olivia Nuzzi story in the NY Times this week. And then I stepped into trail of slime coming afterwards in her ex Ryan Lizza's substack.

Four decades back a major label released a debut album that sounded like almost nothing on earth while still sounding incredibly familiar. Our man in San Francisco Ned Raggett takes stock of it all

Remember the recent middle-of-the-night apartment building raid where children were dragged outside naked & zip-tied in the street while black & Latino residents were _sorted by race_ and piled into separate vans while their apartments were ransacked & robbed? That raid? So it resulted in 0 arrests.

Why isnt the NY Times covering the Trump administration this way?
Border Patrol agents are used to chasing smugglers through the deserts and mountains of the American south-west. Now they are conducting raids in Home Depot car parks and clashing with protesters in sleepy neighbourhoods
See how Donald Trump is creating his own police force
Immigration agents are operating in cities with few legal constraints

Remember how Trump tried to say this was a Democratic consipracy? The call was coming from inside the creepy sauna.

Remember when Trump and the GOP crushed the New Green Deal?

59-65% of voters support the policy and the outcomes that the NGD proposed. But the GOP squashed it.

Don’t know anything about this paper but on the face of it this looks and reads like a solid investigation.
Great investigation of the Nazis, racists and criminals mobilising the flag-on-lamp-posts movement. This is the kind of journalism that the national media could and should have conducted:

Despite what this article suggests, this clickbait headline says more about the absolute uselessness of the charts than it does about any genres popularity or cultural significance.
There are no rap songs in the top 40 for the first time in 35 years.

Let's talk about what that means…
