Y’all keep doing this thing where you’re trying to “expand” the base of concern so that people can address racism by …avoiding any actual discussion of racism.

You're at Prince.

I need you at The Revolution.
You're at Sonny.

I need you at Cher.
You're at Hall.

I need you at Oates.

Wait. I might love this idea.
A lane has opened up for a new kind of male influencer and I wonder if they're going to take to social media. I'm not sure those men even want to be influencers. They're perfectly happy talking about art within their own social circle away from a camera.

But at least the imaginary voters Chuck Schumer made up and talks to in his head are happy.
Democrats are demanding new leadership after Schumer failed to stop a GOP-backed funding deal that doesn't guarantee continued health care subsidies. Progressives like Ro Khanna blasted him for giving in and warned premiums could soar as a result.
Democrats Call for New Leadership After Schumer Caves on “Terrible” GOP Deal
“If you can’t lead the fight to stop healthcare premiums from skyrocketing … what will you fight for?” said Ro Khanna.

Dump Chuck. Expel the 8 from the caucus. People need to see party discipline now more than ever and they need to know that the party as a whole doesn't abide what happened. The good will the party was building crumbled to dust last night and people need to see a change.
In response to this claim that the "strategy didn't work."

The people were on our side. We were building momentum to help save our democracy. We could have won - the premium increase notices were just starting.

And giving in now will embolden him. Things will likely get worse.

It's been a year do you think it's safe to take my thesis books off my desk and put them on the shelf or should I keep them handy just in case?

Good.
James Talarico, a Texas Democrat running for U.S. Senate who has put his faith at the forefront of his campaign, follows several adult film performers, escorts and OnlyFans models on Instagram, according to an Axios review.

If you called it STATE SCHOOL you could adopt the CSI model with endless spinoffs that occasionally coalesce into crossover events at conferences I am all the way in someone call CBS.
Always wanted an “academic procedural” show where a prof is seen doing the most routine parts of the job, like grading or ms revisions, but they’re also suffering all the kinds of breakdowns detectives have in their shows

Hard to say that there's a "best" @realgdt.bsky.social movie, since the best GDT movie always happens to be the one I just watched, but Frankenstein is doing a lot of work to convince it is, in fact, his best. (At least until the next time I watch The Devil's Backbone or Crimson Peak or...)

At its core, Pluribus is about the dangers of downloading unknown attachments from unknown senders and the risk of Trojan Horse botnet viruses.

The best reasons to ever go to Austin remain Book People and the Texas Book Festival. Scalzi is honestly just (an admittedly delicious) icing.
I'm at the Texas Book Festival all weekend, check their site for the schedule!
Welcome to town

By chance are you appearing somewhere accessible to normal people?

We used to joke about reality TV being a portent for the end of civilization and uh....boy, was that ever a fuckin monkey's paw.
The key factor that everyone seems to always forget is that Trump was the host of what was once the highest rated show on network TV - a purportedly non-fiction show that portrayed him as a hyper-savvy and hyper-successful businessman.
Trump has gotten huge numbers of infrequent voters to the polls, twice. He's deeply unpopular but has mobilized a large, unprecedented coalition of Americans motivated by some combination of ignorance, avarice, and cruelty. It is hard to describe what he has as something other than charisma
