Following up on this. This remains a ‘cave is minutes or hours away’ situation. If you want to impact how this plays out you need to contact senators literally now. I want to add additional points of context. What I’m relaying is what I’ve picked up from highly reliable sources.
Sounds like the squishes in the senate caucus are ready to pull the plug with no ACA changes. This is real. If you want to register your opinion you shld call yr senator in the next hour. They not only want to reopen w/nothing. They want cover from their colleagues who still want to hold out.

Adam Schiff’s DC and SF office voice mailboxes are full.

In good news, girlfriend passed the CA Bar exam (on her first try, mind you, and without a formal US legal education)

So in my mind she’s pretty much the smartest woman who ever lived

I am doing my damnedest to do and advocate for climate work that makes a big positive impact on people’s daily lives, and not center the C word, in my community

IMO that’s the way forward

It’s pretty interesting how pundits can proclaim that Zohran’s pro-housing policies are insincere or not true YIMBYism but Abigail Spanberger’s straight up opposition to state land use preemption of local governments for ADUs and small apartments upzoning and approvals just gets shrugged off.

California should pass a law to clean up #AB2097, which removed most minimum parking mandates near transit. UCLA's Amy Lee, A. Millard-Ball and M. Manville have given us a road map for how to do that. Basically, put the "expansive interpretations" in this table into law.

Look, it’s California
Ya this video is pretty much how I feel about living in San Diego: pretty good, except infuriatingly bad compared to how good it could be
SB 79 was signed into law the day after I left California. It’s because they knew this video was coming

It seems bad that only $668 million of California's $31 billion transportation budget is for public transit capital projects next year.

HSR gets another $798 million.

$1.45 billion out of $31 billion. It's a hidden form of climate arson.
