Last night, Law's a Drag held its first ever CABARET!

We mixed lip syncs, comedy, and dance with a Q&A on the For Woman Scotland UKSC judgment, providing info about how it will affect equality law, and the lives of drag artists, and trans, nonbinary, intersex, and cis people in the UK

Delighted that the summer I turned into a doctor is leading into the Autumn I started my new role as a Law Lecturer at Manchester Law School

Excited to be joining a faculty of such brilliant, vibrant, creative academics 🥳

Punishment based writing buddy system - if either of us miss a day we have to eat a raw egg (this is medically ill-advised please don’t copy me)
Alright, share your terrible writing tips that actually work.

Mine is: stop for the day in the middle of a paragraph, a sentence, even in the middle of a word. It feels SO wrong but it makes it 1000x easier to pick up the thread the next day.

We are witnessing an ongoing genocide in Gaza and those who speak out against Israel’s violent actions in Palestine are sanctioned. It’s perverse (not to mention illegal) for countries to enable the perpetrators of genocide while punishing those who oppose it.

It is now more than three months since my own ABH in the course of which I was addressed as a cunt, a stupid bitch and the Whore of Babylon. Northumbria Police have my assailant’s name, a complete video of the attack, CCTV evidence and a medical report. They are, to my knowledge, yet to speak to him
Othering by Gender Critical Ideology fanatics and Biologica Purity movement people has real life consequences. This is the UK today.

Am I correct in understanding that the story in the UK today is that someone chose to chant "death to IDF" and *not* that the IDF is shooting civilians trying to access food at aid distribution sites?

Right.

Over the weekend @benedictdouglas.bsky.social and I were lucky enough to run an amazing zine making session at the East Midlands NEU Activist Summer School

Throughout the day we reflected on our role in addressing the rise of the right & its corrosion of our democracies

It's your last chance to respond to the EHRC consultation. It closes at 11.59pm tomorrow. Get it done tonight. Tell them about the personal impact. Better to do something short and quick than not at all.

Don't let them claim we didn't tell them.

The EHRC's lawyers admitted its position re. toilets adopted in its interim update (specifically mandating employers to have single-sex toilets instead of individual gender neutral cubicles) was wrong.

We think they're even more wrong still, though.

This goes not just for Zack, but for everyone: stop being squeamish about saying 'trans.'

It's the trans community specifically under attack right now and a trans councillor who's had to resign because of that.

Don't 'all lives matter' it. Say trans.
Huge solidarity with Dylan.

Everyone deserves the right to live peacefully and our LGBTIQA+ community are far too often under attack.

This Labour Party are failing to stand up for basic human rights.
