People who speak several languages age more slowly

Not everyone ages at the same rate. A new study shows multilingualism appears to protect against accelerated ageing. People who regularly use several languages remain cognitively fit for longer."

This mess is entirely the responsibility of successive Tory regimes who wanted to soften the BBC's independence and, indeed, undermine and weaken the BBC with a view to destroying it/privatising it. They hate a free press and anything that isn't creating private profit.

Lord Patten 100% reflects my view, particularly the point about the dangers of this all undermining our democracy

Remember the likes of Trump and Farage want democracy gone. It doesn't serve their purpose
SUPERB and angrily unvarnished response, by former BBC chairman, Lord Patten.

"I don't think that we should allow ourselves to be bullied into thinking that the BBC is only any good, if it reflects the prejudice of the last person who shouted at it." ~AA

BBC - what a mess

We need public service broadcasting imo

Cameron started this when he dumped the Board of Trustees and replaced it with a quango basically. That allowed the political element to gain hold

We now face the prospect of a political cabal undermining our democracy and killing it

It is utter madness not to start reversing Brexit.
