We did a home renovation not too long ago, and I must admit it went slightly over budget. If you include the Martin Building, however, it was shockingly over budget.

Almost $120 million stolen from Tennessee
The Trump administration is currently holding hostage nearly $7B in federal funding for K-12 schools--funding that was supposed to be distributed yesterday.

They've stolen $80M from Wisconsin students and teachers alone. How much have they stolen from your state?

A student paper laments Robert Nozick's lack of discussion of the practical or policy implications of his "principle of rectification." Would his book would have been nearly as widely read, cited, or taught if he had explored those implications at length? My intuition is that it wouldn't have been.

I am grimly fascinated by the transformation of Hillsdale. Disgraced long-time president George Roche walked a tightrope— massively increasing the college’s national exposure to and donor support from movement conservatism without quite succumbing to movement capture.

This is a hilarious example of how conservatism's pretenses to limited government, skepticism of majoritarian rule, seperation of powers, and respect for the constitution was always bullshit. But Hillsdale College in particular is one of the most instructive examples of this phenomenon. A long🧵

Our universities are certainly free to do research that is NOT “in sync” with the US President’s whims and urges.
