What did you think "Digital Transformation" meant? Vibes? Actually, yeah.

Remember when this guy used to put effort into trying to persuade people that their policies based on populist prejudices were wrong? Me neither.
I think the American right is in fact correct about several things and it would be wise to concede that.

New ep! We talk to Sy Adler about his 1980 manuscript about the birth of BART, and what we can learn about intergovernmental politics, real estate development, land value capture, and much, much more

I think the Also TM-B Bike is good, especially considering that Rivian typically sells 7,000lb behemoths.

So what exactly do NIMBYs mean when they say SB 79 will make them “lose what makes their neighborhoods so incredibly special”??

While he's less of a prominent Poaster than other members of the @cayimby.bsky.social team, @aceckhouse.bsky.social put in WORK managing the policy development of SB 79 and he deserves more public recognition than he'll get.

We need a movie that is part Rashomon, part Metal Wolf Chaos.
This Year’s Most Terrifying Best Picture Contender Is Part Rashomon, Part Zero Dark Thirty
Kathryn Bigelow’s first movie in eight years will remind you why she’s a master of suspense.

I know @bettyyeeforca.bsky.social would have signed SB79 by now.

After watching the interview, it’s clear---Katie Porter doesn’t have the temperament to be Governor. As a candidate, I welcome the hard questions---the next governor must be accessible and transparent.

No place for temper tantrums. No place for dodging the public’s right to know.

Spend $11 Billion to Build a 20 Mile Freeway Viaduct vs Just Go Around
Caltrans has released a cross section for the ultimate (raised viaduct) version of SR-37.

Now maybe I'm just being paranoid, but if you were building a road that you planned to keep at 4 lanes wide, I don't think it would look like this.

If @gavinnewsom.bsky.social doesn’t sign SB79, then he’s not really serious about California’s future representation in Congress and we all should just vote No on Prop 50 in that case.

Two things can be true at the same time:
- building more homes lowers rental prices
- being *able* to build more homes increases property values
I just want to say again that building more densely very often does *increase* hyperlocal property values because density brings amenities.

this sometimes gets glossed over.
i agree that building more housing is a good thing! but their own polling shows the average voter has a folk theory of politics where higher supply means higher prices and that they fucking hate any non-SFH zoning!

[Insert “Chad Barbara Lee vs Virgin Karen Bass” Meme Here]
LA Mayor Karen Bass is requesting a veto on transit-oriented development bill SB 79, which is headed to Gavin Newsom's desk: "While SB 79 allows for local ordinances as an alternative compliance, it does not provide a viable path for a pro-housing city like Los Angeles"

Anybody care to imagine how recall elections might work in a municipality with multi-member proportional legislative districts? Like what if the Sunset district in SF had 3 supervisors? Would it take a 75% vote to recall one of them?
