I am queer. I love transit and i am a transit geek and enjoy city living. I love Arsenal, TFC You can find me in 114 for TFC.
i am also a comic collector and pop culture lover.
You hate trans folk, i hate you.
Fewer stops, longer walking distance to worse transit, and more transfers.
Terrible.

One thing that i hear from some transit advocates is that “there are too many stops and removing stops will attract riders bc buses will be faster”.

Well, Winnipeg Transit removed nearly a quarter of its stops and ridership tanked.

17 routes cut, 1300 bus stops removed, reduced night service. making service less accessible in favour of faster service does have a tendency to drive riders away.
Winnipeg: Ridership is down 14% after a big redesign. (We had no role.) But this deep dive is too much about counting bus stops. High-ridership redesigns often respace bus stops to produce a better balance of access and speed. Something else is wrong.

Winnipeg’s transit system upgrade was supposed to increase ridership, but the data — though not entirely reliable — suggests it may have done the opposite, @jsrutgers.bsky.social reports

Data gaps obscure impacts of Winnipeg Transit overhaul | The Narwhal
There’s ‘no question’ fewer people rode Winnipeg buses after the transit overhaul, the mayor says. But gaps in the data make it hard to get a clear picture

Remember, the president of Palantir Canada is on Carney's council for Canada/US relations.

The federal government recently did a deal with a Canadian proxy for Palantir.

The OPP has been using Palantir 10+ years.

That's before you even get to Palantir's association with the Ontario Place grift.
