I had a great time in Berlin last week @ComLab10 organised by the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation where I talked about our work on the genetics of human longevity. It was an inspiring meeting and I was really impressed by the pitches from the participants!

Phenomenal. In my 10 year update of A Brief History, I make the point that in the first edition, not one disease had been successfully treated using gene therapy. Today that number is at least 7.

Great to see this paper by Daniele Bizzarri now published in Immunity & Ageing! Here we show that a higher MetaboHealth score is associated with increased inflammatory/immune related proteins and decreased cholesterol transport related proteins.

Sad to learn we lost Keith Blackwell, an unsung hero of the aging field. Keith showed rapamycin extends C. elegans lifespan, that mTORC2 has diet-dependent effects on aging, and linked together skn1 TOR splicing and aging.
