The Jonathan Bailey photos are a form of resistance. I won’t be taking questions about this.

Thank you Eckleburg Review for publishing my essay called “No More Baby Carrots.” I wrote this a few years ago before I decided to try a weight loss injection, but all the sentiments remain. I want to one day STOP writing about weight/body image…not looking great. www.eckleburg.org/no-more-baby...

With NPR’s fall fundraising drive coming up I think it’s important that they present BOTH SIDES and also tell us why we shouldn’t donate to them — only fair right? #NPR 🤭

Here's a fact: NOTHING that you want will happen if the GOP holds any power at all.

The prerequisite, the thing that MUST happen first, is that Democrats get as much power as possible. Only THEN can any progress be made. Only THEN can change happen.

That MUST be your priority over EVERYTHING else!

I pray for all those harmed by his actions, words, and writing. I hope they find peace.

It’s accurate. He advocated for cruel treatment of children.
In a book draft I once referred to Dobson as "America's foremost advocate of child abuse," which he was (see "Dare to Discipline"), but the publisher made me take it out.

Yes, I’m literally tearing up reading Ari Shapiro’s post about leaving NPR. He’s been one of my favorite voices since I became an NPR listener. Wish nothing but the best for him! #NPR

“Texas Democrats should never be able to return home ever again because Texas voters keep electing Republicans” is fucking insane.

Are YOU paying for their lost income from their full time jobs? Their housing? Moving expenses for them and their families??

Uh huh. Like I thought.

Mamdani certainly hurt Kamala's campaign by not endorsing her last year.

Also, is Zohran trying to hurt the Schumer and Jeffries campaigns by not endorsing them?
I don’t think Jeffries refusing to endorse Mamdani hurts Mamdani because he’s running against two Batman villains that everyone hates but it does tell us that they really wish they could hurt him

Eleni Kounalakis was my personal top choice for CA governor (after MVP declined to run), but I totally respect her decision to switch races. I hope CA Dems will choose a candidate who prefers attacking republicans over Democrats and works for everyone including POC.

Again, Democrats got Republicans to shut down Congress. They blocked more nominees than ever before in history.

They’re being shot. The FBI is being sent after them. Their hotels are getting bomb threats. They’re getting arrested at work.

But they are standing strong.

And Julia here hates them.

I FINALLY started reading "Jesus and John Wayne" by Kristin Kobes Du Mez and boy is it pissing me off! The rot runs deep in Christian nationalism and the patriarchy.

I’m so exhausted y’all.
I really like Steve Inskeep, but again the framing of his question was so lopsided and I don’t even think he realizes it.
I think too many journalists want to blame Democrats for tr-mp so they can claim no culpability.

My therapist said today that playing Sims 4 was a form of dissociation for me. I was like yeah — duh — that’s why I do it! 😂
He’s not president in the Sims, there’s no war, people aren’t being discriminated against, and I’m in control!

1/2 Implicit or not, @npr.org continues to show right leaning bias even when it’s a story about the right defunding NPR.

This image, with that headline, is absurd. It should be the GOP highlighted for cutting funding, not Schumer. The caption about him is only on display when you click thru.
