First year wassailing in Streatham was fantastic, very welcoming and friendly. Great fun. Some inventive blessings offered by my youngest too. Might get to Barnes in a few weeks too.

So good to be back in Tromsø for #Munin2025 Always a diverse and inspiring occasion, and this is no exception. Fantastic keynote this morning from @tweissgerber.bsky.social on Open Methods, talking to us about this we all know from very fresh perspectives. Lots to digest from other sessions.

I remember asking my daughter what she learned in school that day. She said gay men liked Sony. Lesbians prefer Bose. Transgender ppl prefer Yamaha.

With tears in my eyes I knelt down and said to her, "fuck sake girl, they're just stereo types"

Interesting that the sceptics have now fully moved from “it doesn’t work” to “it’s a bubble”.

(It probably is a bubble! But who cares? There’s been a fundamental breakthrough and it will drive the build-out of compute and energy infrastructure.)
Everyone agrees that we're currently in a dotcom era-like AI bubble. People disagree what sort of bubble it is.

There are 3 stories one can tell about the dotcom crash: a startup story, a telecom story, and an accounting fraud story.

My take: it's giving Enron
