🔥 From coal to clean energy!

The Scottish village of Fallin, Stirlingshire, hopes to transform the abandoned Polmaise coal mine into the UK’s first community-owned thermal energy project 💡

The flooded pit could heat local polytunnels, turning a symbol of the past into a legacy for the future♻️

We have built a society in which people of different skin tones, religious backgrounds & cultures get along, share power, work alongside each other, procreate with each other, recognise the each other’s humanity and democratic rights. It is a STUNNING ACHIEVEMENT OF WORLD HISTORIC PROPORTIONS.
I know statistics are poorly understood and are misused. But facts matter

Between the 1991, 2001, 2011 and 2021 Census *every* ethnic group in the UK has become *less* geographically segregated and *all* groups, majority and minorities, are more likely to interact with people not like them

The UK offers ideal pear-growing conditions – but only around 8% of pears sold here are home grown. Traditional orchards are excellent habitats for wildlife, but they're now rare – so planting pear and apple trees can really help boost biodiversity.

They call it the holiday shopping season.

Funny how nobody mentions the holiday eviction season, or the holiday medical bill season.

From the start of October, everyone should be wearing string backed driving gloves in their car. It's such a shame that so many people don't do this. No wonder the standard of driving has dropped in the last 20 years.

Very good stuff from Sadiq Khan at the Labour Irish society event. He said there are two reasons he loves coming to Labour Conference.

“One is the reception at the Labour Party Irish Society reception.
