As if all the other stuff wasnt bad enough, this is the cherry on top. I quit using spotify last year and havent looked back!

Supporting artists directly is where its at yall.
In April 2024, Spotify implemented a new scheme: songs with less than 1k streams per year would no longer receive royalties.

The data for 2025 was just released via Luminate, and 88% of songs have been demonetized.

Read it again: 88% of songs on Spotify have been demonetized.

Feels like the world pressures us into becoming very specialized, when in my experience being the opposite has led to far more opportunities - not to mention that it works better for my brain.

Play test your ideas from an early stage! You don‘t have to implement all their suggestions, but you’ll certainly get a much clearer idea of what’s good and what’s not - even from as few as a couple people.

And even if not, you can have a good time watching somebody playing something you made! ✨
I see devs get prickly about playtesting because they're afraid of being "focus grouped" or having the edges sanded off.
The point of playtesting is to see if what you intended was what the player actually experienced, and there's no other way to find this out than putting it in front of someone.

I get that some people want to skip to the end goal immediately but in reality the process of collaborating with actual humans is what leads to the best results during the creative process. Creatives work better when given emotions and adjectives rather than you badly trying to do their job for them
We spoke to a dozen professional concept artists who are currently or have previously worked in game development about whether generative AI image tools have made their jobs any easier.

Zero said it did. Most said it made things harder.

Ive put off playing Sky for a while and honestly i wish i’d played it sooner.

It’s rare to find a game that promotes such wholesome behaviour in the way it does, and the music is soooo pretty!

Highly recommend giving it a go 🪽✨
