I see people are talking about this Ticket to Ride Netflix movie but I'd personally wait for the Ticket to Ride: Europe movie because it'll fix a few of the issues from the original.
February 18, 2026 at 9:15 PM
Ok, THIS is a statement that actually addresses the issue. Thank you, John.

I can appreciate that it's hard to part ways with somebody who has been a friend for so long, but I don't think his attitudes on AI are good for the board game industry.
Today I want to share that Ryan Dancey and AEG have parted ways.
This is not an easy post to write. Ryan has been a significant part of AEG’s story, and I am personally grateful for the years of work, passion, and intensity he brought to the company. We have built a lot together.

If the first image is the Chinese character for horse, does that mean this second one is the Chinese character for homse?

AI is not taking our jobs. The AI bubble is. This mad dash to buy hardware and real estate is sucking up all the money that should go to employment.

What happens when the demand never reaches a point to justify all those capital expenses? A lot of companies holding things they can't get rid of.

I just did the dumbest thing of my entire career to prove a much more serious point.

I tricked ChatGPT and Google, and made them tell other users I’m a competitive hot-dog-eating world champion

People are using this trick on a massive scale to make AI tell you lies. I’ll explain how I did it

So we did get a statement from AEG's CEO but this post feels like it should have been the start of a thread rather than something expected to stand on its own. As it is, this is pretty disappointing and ignores the elephant in the room.
There’s been conversation today about AI and game design.

I want to be clear where I stand. For 30+ years, AEG has worked with human designers to bring games to life. That creative partnership, the collaboration, the shared spark, is what makes tabletop special. That is not changing.

1 to 5 but I wouldn’t recommend it at 1 or 5 or even 2 really.
