Of course. And that’s why Dems need to lean in and work towards dismantling ICE.
First no funding.
Impeach Noem.
Demand hearings on ICE’s operation in MN.
Demand that Miller resign.

Don’t let up.
“An administration official gave away the game to Punchbowl News, admitting that these “de-escalatory measures” are about placating Senate Democrats so they don’t seize this moment to demand restrictions on ICE as part of any government funding package.”

Donald Trump Is Frightened
Trump wants to appear eager to minimize out-of-control clashes between government militias and protesters. But he doesn’t want to stop the things causing those clashes in the first place.

A Danish pension fund sold $100 million in US bonds. Trump said he “holds all the cards” and warned Europe against selling US assets over tariffs, or face “big retaliation”. A Swedish pension fund responded by dumping $8.8 billion in US Treasury bonds.

Democrats' demand that Stephen Miller is fired as a condition of voting for ICE funding is one of the smartest moves they've made under Trump.

Miller is a loathsome figure who I imagine has rock-bottom likability numbers. Democrats should try to raise his public salience as often as possible.

This is one of the very few good things coming from this mess.

Great song by the Boss!

An ICE agent attempted to enter the Ecuadorian Consulate in Minneapolis, threatening the staff member who prevented him from entering.

Hello? ICE is so out of control that its agents think they can break international law.

Congress needs to rein them in yesterday.

Stephen Miller acknowledges a “possible breach of protocol” before Alex Pretti’s shooting.

Come on! That’s not it. The agency is performing exactly as designed.

Miller set a quota for ICE arrests and impossible hiring targets. Kristi Noem set low standards for qualifications to meet the quota.

Trump regime basically: 'The rapist hasn't given his blessing to protect the victim, so at this point the victim will not receive any protection.'
Rubio: “At the moment, Russia has not given its consent to the security guarantees for Ukraine that were reached by the USA and the European Union countries.”
January 28, 2026 at 8:15 PM
Rubio specifically mentioned Rand Paul has been consistent in his positions regardless who is president.
Apparently Rubio thinks it's weird for a Republican Senator to be consistent. Apparently he thinks Republican Senators should only be critical when a Democrat is president.
RAND PAUL: If a country bombed our air defense missiles, captured & removed our president, & blockaded our country, would that be considered an act of war?

RUBIO: We just don't believe this operation comes anywhere close to the constitutional definition

PAUL: Of course it would be an act of war!

So, forcing them to not wear masks basically defunds ICE Gestapo with 75%.
Of course few of them will actually quit. But otherwise it would have been a pretty simple measure to downsize ICE significantly.

The Mayor of Milan Sala is well informed about ICE:
“This is a militia that kills, a militia that enters into the homes of people, signing their own permission slips. It is clear they are not welcome in Milan, without a doubt,”

So which politician is calling for the dismantling of the probably illegal database that ice & this government is collecting biometric data of protesters?

This is 100% whitewashing after the fact.
If indeed he didn't have a an ID on him. Which is doubtful. Because if the administration says he didn't have an ID and they are the only source, than he likely did have an ID on him.
But even if he didn't, they only knew this after they murdered him.
And the penalty for that is…death? WTF does whether Alex Pretti had ID on him matter to his MURDER?

the first best Senate ask is to split the DHS funding from the rest of the minibus.

It wrongfoots Republicans, it unites the D caucus, and it becomes more compelling rather than less compelling the longer Rs resist it. plus all the minibus components were negotiated separately anyway
