But I don't see how Johnson stopping his treason would make the Democrats be forgiven for their betrayal.

Why does it matter if Adelita Grijalva is sworn in?
They betrayed their voters. They betrayed everyone depended on ACA tax credits.

It was all a setup.
Maybe some Democrats really opposed caving.
They should speak out and name names.
The Democrats in the Senate are in disarray.
Those, who not openly urge Schumer to resign, risk being primaried or voted out.

It doesn't really matter.
If the other 46 Democrats tell Schumer to resign, he will likely comply.
If he doesn't, they can start a new caucus.
The procedures aren't really relevant.
What's relevant is how much support Chuck still has.
And I am afraid he still has a lot of support.

Why did they fold?
The only reason, I can think of, is they were worried many flights would have been canceled, including the ones that would have taken them home for Thanksgiving.

The only plus is, that people will now really experience what Republican health-care, or better lack of health-care, really means.

Democrats were winning the shutdown. But because they caved, Republicans won the argument the shutdown was on Democrats.
So it will be harder for Democrats to get the upper hand the next shutdown.

Yes.
But it will be much harder to do then. And besides the new premiums already set in. So will be hard to re-implement tax credits during the year. And many people will already have canceled their health-care insurance by then.
Not sure if they can re-apply mid-year.

Unseat everyone that still supports Schumer as leader as well.
Eight people voted for it. But definitely more were okay with this betrayal. They just ducked behind the notorious eight for political cover.

We gave Dems a massive win and an undeniable mandate to hold the line, and they squandered it. They have all betrayed us. We demand @schumer.senate.gov resign TODAY.
We will unseat every traitor who capitulated at the first available opportunity. We are inconsolably furious with them all.

Or he did control his caucus and he just ordered eight of them to vote Yes to give the rest cover.

Better strategy.
Otherwise you risk splitting the vote.
There needs to be a movement like the Tea Party, but actually fully grass roots.
