I made a Sachertorte. This is widely recognized as the most famous dessert in the world. I don't know about that but I had it at the Sacher Hotel in Salzburg this summer and decided I would learn to make it when we got home.

I wish there was a precedent for what happens when a demagogue picks out a vulnerable minority group and labels them as subhuman. I wonder what the next step is and whether any innocent people get hurt. And I wonder whether the demagogue's followers go on trial when the whole thing is over.
