This is the most astonishing graph of what the Trump regime has done to US science. They have destroyed the federal science workforce across the board. The negative impacts on Americans will be felt for generations, and the US might never be the same again.

“We are taking the sign out of the window. The old order is not coming back. We should not mourn it. Nostalgia is not a strategy. But from the fracture, we can build something better, stronger, and more just. This is the task of the middle powers.”

Some perspective: The S&P opened down -1.3% on Trump's Greenland saber-rattling. That's $750 billion of wealth destroyed -- roughly equal to estimates of the value of Greenland.

And so ~in dollar terms~ his shenanigans have already cost the US one Greenland, and we've got nothing to show for it.

I think they will hate it, and it will brainlock their minds, but if the senior command tells them to do it, they'll do it
ps. to explain my confusion, the blurb you put in the bsky comment sounds like "don't worry, they won't do it," but the text of your article says something COMPLETELY different, to my mind

The apparent concession by the American president might provide an avenue to de-escalate the tension over Greenland.

Komisch.

🇭🇺🇩🇪 Orbán: Today Europe is run by a German war troika.

President of the Commission is a German woman. The German Chancellor, obviously. And the leader of the largest faction in the European Parliament, the EPP, is also a German man.

These 3 people are the ones shaping Europe’s war policy today.
