Momentum builds for new leadership!
Now is the time to fight, not surrender. 🗣️
Schumer must step down from his post as minority leader and allow for new leadership to emerge—someone who is willing to consistently fight for the American people.

Progressive group MoveOn calls on Schumer to step aside
"Inexplicably, some Senate Democrats, under Leader Schumer's watch, decided to surrender."

I want a solution to this government shutdown as soon as possible, but the new bill in the Senate just isn’t good public policy and doesn’t help the Americans we’ve been fighting for. This is a bad deal.

Thank goodness for Senators who know the difference between serving the best interests of the people and caving because it's hard. I hope this mess can be salvaged.
The Senate’s bill is a bad deal for the American people. Read my full statement below.

Next week hasn’t even started, and somehow I already feel like this cat.
My self-care this weekend? Attending the symphony with a friend, volunteering, and joining a group hike. Sometimes rest looks like connection, community, and a little movement in good company.

Gutted by the Dems caving after the blue-wave wins of last week? Sick & tired of us snatching defeat from the jaws of victory? I hear you! Might I suggest you calm yourself, relax, take a deep, cleansing breath... then see if this photo of 2 pandas cuddling is of any help.

This is why democrats fail, there's enough centrists willing to sell out to the republicans on critical issues that it alienates their largest voting block, Millennials.
We want action, progress, reforms and resistance. The cruelty of the GOP cannot be tolerated.

Dems have spent the past two months saying they're fighting to address the crisis of spiking healthcare costs and now they're caving for a deal that does nothing to address healthcare costs ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Don't cave! Hold the line!
Any Dems who vote to kick the ACA can down the road a year and side with the cruelty of the GOP will be in for a rude awakening in the midterms.

i think this is key. taking the deal would amount to taking the blame. it would turn a clear political victory into an unambiguous defeat.
If the Dems blink after all of this, for a deal that all but ensures no ACA subsidies in 2026 anyway, then what was the purpose of letting the shutdown go for 40 days in the first place?
