Trump managed to get his frivolous lawsuit against pollster Ann Selzer dismissed from federal court so he can proceed in Polk County, Iowa court.

The Polk County case number is, I shit you not, 69420. Where's Elon?

HUGE THING:

100,000 people volunteered for Mamdani. 1000s volunteering for the FIRST TIME. And they just won BIG.

So that's a massive army of progressives HUNGRY to keep on winning.

That's worth more than all the billionaires' money.

We're going to keep working.

And we're going to keep winning.

This isn't new, by the way. Trump and his minions wanted an "antifa" Black Bloc to show up and fight with cops on Jan. 6, 2021. If that had happened, he would have then called out the National Guard to a) arrest leftists and b) shut down the Capitol and prevent the election from being certified
one of the reasons they're so mad at "no kings" is that they thought they were going to get a different kind of protest. they *want* the black bloc to be out there fighting with the cops. those are the images they've been trying to generate from "go." instead--

MAGA Rage at “No Kings” Boils Over—and It Quickly Backfires on Trump
As Trump allies smear the coming protests, a good writer on MAGA skewers the absurdity of these attacks on large swaths of Americans—and explains why our best recourse will be to turn out in force.

Donald Trump lost his lawsuit against Bob Woodward and Simon and Schuster in July, but he's back with a motion to file a third amended complaint.

The *solicitor general* filed this, over his own name. The court is up to speed on trade issues, and will see through this crap immediately--total US imports are about $4 trillion, for example, so "trillions" at stake is a wildly dumb claim.

One thing I’ve learned from watching and reporting on how the news ecosystem works on YouTube and other social media platforms is that you can and probably should just repeat your same reporting over and over again to make it really stick

i don't mean to come off as rude but we cannot sustain ourselves on outrage and anger forever. i think it's even more important now to post about other things too. even if it gets less engagement. you never know who will find it cool and interesting.
It’s a real mindfuck when most ppl wanna post about their latest failures/successes, or weird shit they saw in the wild or cool stuff they made…but the country is a cesspool so cool/weird shit seems trite.

6/21, Los Angeles: A neighborhood volunteer documenting ICE was stopped by agents in an unmarked car, surrounded, and threatened by masked agents while they filmed him on their phones.

Question for immigration lawyers: At this point, should anyone with an appointment with immigration services have a lawyer with a habeas petition ready to submit to the nearest Article III judge? So ICE doesn't have time to ship them out of state before it's filed? Any reason not to? #LawSky

Many of the LA Sheriffs didn't have their gas masks on yet so the Sheriffs got gassed by LAPD

LAPD was on the radio crying about getting shot by rubber bullets by the sheriffs, so I'd say fair trade

Typical level of professional policing for Los Angeles. Waiting for CHP to join the fun.

They’re lashing out against Habeas and arresting Mayors because they know their position is weak and getting weaker, and they’re panicking. It’s scary to live through, but it’s less scary when you remember this isn’t coming from a position of strength, it’s sweaty desperation.

I know it's heartbreaking and discouraging when ICE succeeds in kidnapping someone despite the neighborhood showing up.

But people showing up, delaying them, making ICE waste half their shift, is still an effective nonviolent organizing tactic especially at scale.

The machine can be slowed down.
