Another reminder that a 13-year study found that protected bike-lanes led to a drastic decline in fatalities for all road users.

ALL ROAD USERS.

And painted bike-lanes? No safety improvement at all.

For sharrows, it’s actually safer to NOT have them.

Not everyone can bike as their primary form of transport for various reasons. But if you can, do it. You’ll never regret it.

You probably won’t be shocked to hear that after losing his seat in the Canadian election & barely putting any effort into his safe seat “campaign” in Alberta that he needs, Pierre Poilievre STILL refuses to complete the normal security check and try to get the standard, ordinary security clearance.
Reminder: Pierre Poilievre STILL refuses to apply for the normal, usual security clearance, the Canadian media is STILL under-reporting that, and I’m STILL choosing to assume under these dangerous and scary circumstances that it’s because he knows that he wouldn’t pass the security check.
Alberta Premier Danielle Smith asked US administration to "put things on pause" to help Poilievre get elected as PM x.com/cspotweet/st...

Horrible decision. Will result in less ridership, lower revenues, more driving and worse vehicle congestion (with all the corresponding costs and consequences). Either they don’t understand that, or they’re ok with all that.

This Premiere has no idea how much disability, lost productivity and death costs. Covering Covid vaccines is a ridiculously easy fiscal decision. Her comments highlight her ignorance and will be a record of her negligence in the future.
"We just have so many priorities in health care, we can't afford to be wasting money," Premier says about Covid vaccines. (Same Premier behind $70 million Turkish Tylonel fiasco)
"She is absolutely wrong about how effective the vaccine is. And her own Ministry of Health has the data to prove it," said Talbot, who is also an adjunct professor at the University of Alberta. www.cbc.ca/news/canada/...

A public health communications failure, including among the majority of physicians, who are unfamiliar or apathetic about the reams of data documenting long-COVID. New data continues to accumulate but there were numerous worrisome early studies that were ignored or dismissed.
Louder for the people in the back: "It has been a public health failure that the public does not realize how much organ damage #COVID infection can cause to things that aren’t your lungs (or throat or nose or taste buds)."

Amen to this.

It's not professionally popular to keep talking about this, that's for sure.
