Yep, it's bollocks. The moments I've felt least safe are in medium-sized towns around chucking-out time. London always felt fairly safe to me in comparison and now more so than ever.
The idea that London has become less safe in recent years is quite strange - just look at how once "dangerous" areas have been transformed in recent years. Gentrification comes with its own issues but streets are packed with visitors and city far more welcoming than when I moved here a decade ago.

In an even remotely healthy political system and culture - and everywhere else in the democratic world - January 6 would have been a dealbreaker: The end of Trump as a major political figure. He would have been convicted, shunned, banished - everyone associated with him ostracized from public life.

And whilst the impeachment attempt may fail (and won’t be judged until congress returns) the reason you do it is because it’s the right thing to do and also to clearly and publicly decry Trump and his fascism. You do it to show there is resistance. You do it for your own conscience.
Impeach him now. Submit articles today. Sorry, there's nothing else to do and waiting is madness.
