Is Wake Up Dead Man the best film Netflix has produced in house? It'd have to be up there for me.

All day, this Rob Reiner news has left a cold stain on me. It's just so bleak. The cruelty of it all.

The Rob Reiner news feels like a violation. An awful, miserable end for a such a warm personable filmmaker who had one of the greatest runs of any. Him and his poor wife, right before Christmas. Their poor family.

Slight spoilers for Pluribus, E6, but the decision to make Carol's isolation less an accident, and tie it to her actions is a brilliant wrinkle. It elevates the whole show past its tropes.

75% of *all* Reform donations *ever* have come from just three rich men

It sure looks like Russian intelligence attempted to use military drones to assassinate the President of Ukraine inside an EU country.

Looking forward to more thoughts from Belgium on why freezing Russian assets is an escalatory move that might compromise the peace process.

Be more interesting to swap this tired argument for one on movies that aren't Christmas films, but feel like they are. For me, those are films like Planes, Trains and Automobiles, Uncle Buck, and Groundhog Day.

(Also, Die Hard absolutely is a Christmas film.)

It's good to have this on record so history has the full picture of him, but beyond that valid reason, none of his supporters will care about this, and none of his detractors will be surprised. He'll just end up booked on Question Time again because of it.

It's such a miserable state of the industry that Warner Brothers is going to end up being consolidated with a rival. Be it Ellison's Magamount, Netflix or Comcast which owns Universal, it's all bad options. Well done, Zaslav.

Friendly reminder; anyone not treating climate collapse as an immediate threat of unimaginable scale and violence should be ignored, fired and/or voted out.

The creeps and duds who occupy our government, corp news media and boardrooms need to go FAST.

A question on my mind when watching Pluribus is one I don't think the show needs to spend time on, but I find fascinating: if a writer lived in a world where there were no more readers, would they still write?

Anybody who had a vision to bring American levels of political, cultural and social polarisation to Britain - whether their motive was clicks or cash, ideology, boredom or anything else - would make it their top strategic priority to abolish the BBC, or to damage and diminish it at the very least
Quick thread on the BBC and the political and societal significance of recent developments:

One of the main reasons the UK has historically been so much less polarised than the US, is that Britain has a shared source of information, consumed and trusted by most people regardless of their politics.
