Blowing stuff up really seems to give a certain segment of Americans a “hard as steel” boner. Stuff like these drone attack footage is pure pornography for people like that.
Newsmax's Greg Kelly on US strikes on alleged drug boats: “It's totally legal. It's pure, it's good. And it has nothing to do with transgender.”

instead of saying this was good strategy, maybe senate dems should say: "the republicans were going to kill people by starving them to death, and because we aren't monsters, we decided to let this fight go. We'll keep fighting. Stop electing monsters."

Only photogenic people have value in Trump’s mind.
Q: “Can you clarify where you said the Presidential Medal of Freedom is better than the Congressional Medal of Honor? Many veterans are upset about that”

TRUMP: “People who get the Congressional Medal of Honor are often horribly wounded or dead...”

Nobody in American politics hates their own voters more than the Democratic Party

Let me see if I have this right. There are just enough Democratic Senator “yes” votes for cloture for the filibuster to be overcome, and none of them are up for reelection next year. All the signs of an engineered capitulation, a way to open the government without appearing to cave (but they did).

Seeing a whole lot of Dem senators rushing to get their heartfelt, “I voted no” posts up. Remember that those 8 yes votes were carefully selected bc they aren’t up for reelection. The caucus picked who would take the fall so the rest could claim to be on our side. I don’t trust any of them rn.

Tonight Democrats proved that old quip.

If a genie gave Democrats 3 wishes, they'd negotiate it down to 1, and then wish for something they think Republicans will like.

We need a true opposition party now more than ever. Because this aint it.

Unbelievable. Trump may tell everyone he’s Mr. “America First,” but everyday Americans come in last place in his hierarchy.
After $40 bn for Milei, now $40 bn for Orbán? Meanwhile no money for starving children or healthcare in America.

Sounds like an awesome endorsement to me!
James Talarico, a Texas Democrat running for U.S. Senate who has put his faith at the forefront of his campaign, follows several adult film performers, escorts and OnlyFans models on Instagram, according to an Axios review.

I met an artist on Nextdoor whose work really talks to me. She paints scenes of my part of California that perfectly capture how *I* see them. I purchased the piece in the link and will pick it up next week.

I have a number of old VHS tapes and no player to watch them with. I looked around at my local recycled media stores, and none of them take VHS tapes these days. I don’t care to make money from them but am loath to send them to the landfill. Is it worth my time and effort to find them a new home?

This perfectly encapsulates how I feel living in the US. The republican party is an insane death cult, the democratic party is 3 corporations in a trench coat, and the "socialists" are just the completely normal left-wing capitalists you'd find in any of 2 dozen European nations.
Europeans recognize Zohran Mamdani’s supposedly radical policies as ‘normal’
Critics of New York City’s mayor-elect have said his pledges of free bus service and universal childcare are unrealistic, but in Europe it’s a given

ICE agents in Chicago violently detain a non verbal autistic man for being “non compliant”

He couldn’t “comply” because of his disability…they don’t care

This is not the first time they’ve gone after a disabled person

They target the most vulnerable because it’s an easy way to meet their quota

I am reminded of the argument the conservatives made during the fight for same-sex civil marriage rights, that us gays already had the right to marry the opposite-sex person of our choosing, so we already were being treated equally. Bullshit argument then, bullshit argument now.
NEW: On the shadow docket, the Supreme Court lets Trump resume misgendering trans Americans on their passports, claiming "the government is merely attesting to a historical fact without subjecting anyone to differential treatment." All three liberals dissent. www.documentcloud.org/documents/26...

It is completely a dereliction of duty for Republicans to not convene at all and be on vacation during this shutdown.
