No one told me to rewrite it. I knew it had to be deserving to them. 15+ hour stretches for days, with little sleep, to get it where it had to be.
It's a very different book than I've written in the past and I'm so happy my editor thinks so too 🧚

Yes, my short story was rejected, but the editor said it made it to their shortlist and, “was enjoyed massively.”That’s the best writing news I’ve had in a long while. I’ll take it as a win.

No matter how I try I can’t keep a story under 5K words. I write a few at a time, & those under 3k will expand once I get into them. My current WIP (almost done) is at nearly 5,600 & at final edit I doubt it will be below 5,200, if that. In all, my chances of getting something published disappear

The new SLEEP ALONE cover was inspired by one of my favorite movies, Green Room. I love what Alan did here. The show poster style with all those creases and tears, the club stamps on the back…so many great details. I’m very aware how lucky I am to get two covers I absolutely love 🤩
