If we got another Bloody Panda album, I would be so utterly delighted. No indication it'll ever happen, but man, they were such an incredible band. No one does dread-inducing drone/doom metal quite like them.

For the last week, the conversation about Minneapolis has moved on while we've been seeing as much ICE activity as ever.

I've had people from out of state say, "I thought things were getting better," and "I heard agents left."

We'll see. Don't stop listening to people on the ground here.

I'm only four chapters into this novella/novel I'm writing, and I've hit my first "uhhhhh, wtf am I doing here" moment.

This is the aftermath of an ICE kidnapping a few blocks from my home in St. Paul—an hour ago. A quiet street full of broken glass and at least three wrecked cars. The target of the kidnapping was taken away by ambulance. He was on a stretcher and covered by a sheet, though a cop said he was alive.

It bears repeating that Tom Homan is a fucking psycho and Greg Bovino's exile means functionally nothing when it comes to what's happening on the ground in Minnesota.

Today has been great! I started reading Persona by Aoife Josie Clements (it rules), swam with @cozy-odonnell.bsky.social (love of my life), wrote a chunk of a novella chapter (it's comin' along), and started playing Binding of Isaac: Rebirth (hard but fun).
