I don’t think this is Carney's style, and it wouldn’t go over well in the court of Canadian public opinion. Carney won the election that Trudeau was predicted to lose by going all-in on standing up to the bully in the White House, and we’ve spent the last year boycotting U.S. products and travel.
I missed this informative CBC piece suggesting Canada could emulate Qatar, Switzerland, UAE etc. and just bribe Trump to get the outcome they want - and how Trump's impunity might make it just about legal under Canadian law.

Really can't stand the self-abasement of takes posing as the reasonable middle by conceding it'd be a sensible policy to purchase / annex Greenland so long as it wasn't by force, as if any of the nonsense reasons are compelling. Stop it. There is no reasonable version, that would still be idiotic.
