Writer and noted expert for hire. Ask me about Nicolas Cage's pachinko commercials.
It's been a long time since I've been blindsided by a movie trailer rather than hearing about it months in advance, so I'm all in on CLIFF BOOTH.

"Nah, it was somethin' waydumberthanthat" is a constant part of my vernacular, so hell yeah.

I know he's nearly 90 years old, but I would have loved to have seen Adriano Celentano pop up right then to sing "Prisencolinensinainciusol". Missed opportunity by the Olympic committee.

It's #LetterboxdFriday and my #LastFourWatched aren't super exciting, all from early in the week. Frank Tashlin's directorial debut, a Herk Harvey bit of weirdness, my ultimate music comfort watch, and maybe my least favorite of the MGM Marx Bros. attempts.

We really gotta get back to making 22-episode seasons every year with casts full of weirdos, though. Robert Picardo and Tig Notaro just hanging out would be peak TV.

That Starfleet Academy episode had some lovely moments. The show is absolutely not For Me as the intended audience, but that story was a wonderful bridge between generations, as it were.

I regret to inform everyone that my local theater has some actual business for the Melania documentary. (Still pretty crap for opening weekend.) Really seeing the country's divide here.

She was great at everything and great in everything. We're gonna miss Catherine O'Hara so much.
Goodnight to the brilliant and beloved Catherine O’Hara, whose presence brought so much joy to our screens. Here she is giving one of her scene-stealing performances as Gail, the Mister Softee vendor, in Martin Scorsese's AFTER HOURS (1985). ❤️

What the fucking actual fucking fuck?

It's #lastfourwatched time! I'm on a bit of a @fleischertoons.bsky.social kick, and then after decades of searching I finally get to see just how pointless Beatlemania! The Movie was.

Just a reminder that if you've lost MJH you're gonna lose everyone to the left of Kirk Cameron.

Yeah the thing about Mr. Rogers is his show was never political.

as an author getting any kind of sales bump out of a viral post is so rare you might as well hope to gain notoriety by standing in a field and waiting to be the first writer to catch a meteorite with your teeth instead

It's #LetterboxdFriday and for some reason the Felix the Cat short I watched isn't showing up on my last four! Either way, it was my first delve into @reviverarchival.bsky.social and I am hooked.

To the sound of a ticking bomb
And then it's not just showing off here
You know there's something going on here

Some detail here from the Beeb: “a number of people based in Northern Ireland who remember Good from the time she spent there on Christian youth missions 20 years ago.” https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/c4g49wzw58yo
I don't know what her religious views were and of course that's not the point, but this is what actual Christian martyrdom looks like.
And Renee Good’s last words appear to be “We’re not mad at you.”

My #lastfourwatched is gonna be real interesting now that I've put my physical collection on shuffle. One movie a day (at least) through 2026. Starting with real highs and one low!

Starting my 2026 watch of all my physical media in random order. First up: this mid-70s thriller I got for a buck at 2nd and Charles!
