If you want to be a working professional, you have to learn perspective. I can’t tell you the number of storyboard portfolios I’ve looked at with weak or nonexistent perspective. It’s one of the dead giveaways you’re not ready.

I was walking in Santa Monica eating a Chipotle burrito.
Coming the other way towards me was Weird Al, also eating a Chipotle burrito.
We made eye contact and nodded at each other as we passed, as if to say "greetings, fellow burrito enjoyer."

I’ve sometimes fallen into the trap of thinking that complementing a creative person for their work is less sophisticated or desired than discussion or debate about it but very often the best thing you can say to them is hell yeah and that doesn’t make you dumb it just makes you nice

Is the game you played most this year (assuming it came out this year) the game you want to win GOTY?
For me, it’s not. And that feels right? I played Nightreign far more than any other game but I want Expedition 33 to win. Which is worth discussion.

The fact that fake AI generated trailers for movies/games keep fooling people is indicative of just how badly edited most actual trailers are.
