Oh boy it’s swell to say… I’m now assistant director on AMERICAN DAD! As someone who grew up reading every book about animation and filmmaking, this really is a thrill.
Only thing better than the Seahawks winning is the utter humiliation of the Patriots

I don’t know why the Patriots are even trying to score. A shutout is less embarrassing

I watched the final Mariners Blue Jays game with friends from Toronto and Seattle. The Toronto friend couldn’t understand why we were so miserable throughout most of the game. We explained we’re from Seattle, we’re used to crushing disappointment and failing to live up to your promise. Blue Jays won
There’s a term in the sports community, “Homer,” referring to people who only care about their hometown teams and have a delusional amount of faith in them. It’s meant derogatorily but where’s the fun in choosing to be a fan of great teams? I was cursed to be Seattle sports fan until the day I die

I’ve fully acclimated to living in Los Angeles but I will forever crave the swift destruction of the Rams by the Seahawks.

Managed to make one lap around the roller rink tonight. You take your victories where they come.

I asked the Warrior Mother and she answered. Genuinely startling to watch an IMAX screen so big it took up almost my entire field of vision. Not sure mankind can handle this much Varang. What a night!

Museum of the Moving Image: Obviously the Jim Henson exhibit was the main draw but I cannot deny how excited I was to see the giant Freddy sweater prop from THE DREAM MASTER. Movies! Our greatest artform.

Spent last night on the Lower East Side with two locals who lovingly reminisced about all the harrowing things that happened to them while growing up there in the 80s/90s. “If you both laugh and cry in one day, that’s a whole life.” New York!

Snowfall in New York City. This is the best trip I’ve had in quote some time.

Just got out of BUG. They had us put our phones in those locking bags. Turns out there was an extraordinarily good reason for this!

Riding a real subway system for the first time in my life, experiencing true bliss.

I’ve been welcomed to New York with open arms.

On a flight to New York City, guy in front of me is reading a paperback THE POWER BROKER. Promising omen for my trip.

You know you have a good job when you get to watch 12 ANGRY MEN as part of it.

Do I dare live the American Dream and fly cross-country to the Lincoln Square AMC to watch AVATAR: FIRE AND ASH in IMAX 3D?
I’m flying to New York City on Thursday and I have all the apps open, trying to score good cheap tickets to BUG, much as I assume Arthur Miller used to do.

Three hour layover at the Dallas-Fort Worth airport and yet, flying into Burbank still beats the hellish commute to and from LAX.

If you want to be a working professional, you have to learn perspective. I can’t tell you the number of storyboard portfolios I’ve looked at with weak or nonexistent perspective. It’s one of the dead giveaways you’re not ready.

Perks of being an assistant director: you don’t have to board anything in act one!

Been watching old comedies and it’s funny how many are about extremely rich weirdos who barely have jobs. And it’s great! I don’t want to sympathize with these psychopaths, I want to admire their sparkling wordplay and laugh at their antics. Who would ever want a more relatable TROUBLE IN PARADISE?

Crazy to think there are five people on Earth who enjoy both SPANGLISH and THIS IS 40 and two of them are my coworker and me. [To protect their professional reputation I will not reveal their name.]
