For me preemptively using the notwithstanding clause to strip kids of their Charter rights and prevent legal challenges shows that Alberta government knows their shitty discriminatory bills will not stand up to legal scrutiny from the jump. This is lazy ass governance as per usual.

IMO the UCP incompetence is just a cover for their corruption

#ableg #abpoli #Alberta
The entire UCP government is blatantly “incompetent”. Incompetent of fixing issues they have created, incompetent of respecting us, incompetent of being accountable & also incompetent of being truthful.

Voila!Listen to your own words!

To sum it up- Danielle Smith & her government are incompetent.
WOW!

Smith really is rattled about recall!

Despite the gofundme myth being debunked & even unions making it clear they aren’t organizing anything, Smith announced that she’s looking at ways to make recall rules less accessible!

You know, the recall rules she just re-wrote

Wow, Danielle Smith must have ingested too much ivermectin recently. What a swing!
Premier Smith should heed Danielle Smith's advice.

"By attacking the legal rights of unions in this way, the Premier is only deepening the rift between the government and its workers, and it’s driving that crucial relationship right off the rails..."

His headline claims there is no jail for CP.

There is absolutely still jail, up to a max of 14 years (and the max should be higher).

Rick used be be about speaking truth to power.

The UCP government created and championed the Citizens Initiative Act as a fundamental part of our democracy - giving citizens the right to launch petitions and recall elected officials.
Now they're walking away from that commitment.

One of our (newly elected) City Council's first orders of business was to *unanimously* approve $1 million to expand access to day shelter space in Edmonton. 👏🏻
