We choose mutual aid as a moral and political act - we are caring for our community and knowing we will be cared for in our turn.

The state is going to abandon us but we do not have to abandon ourselves.

The NYT loves the right and does not think trans people deserve full civil rights
she just got the house to pass her bill criminalizing trans care for people under 18 years old.

the only mention in this piece is about how she’s upset trump hasn’t done *enough* to harm trans kids. oh and a quote from her saying trans people are all “perverted”.

what is going on at NYT?

We're ruled by people in all three branches of government and across the tech/corporate landscape who think it's bad that this happened and wish the mob had prevailed, plain and simple. It's clarifying.

Astronomers made a truly mind-boggling discovery using the JWST:

A runaway super-massive black hole, rocketing through space at a staggering 1,000 km/s, leaving a 200,000 light-year-long tail in its wake in which gas is accumulating and triggering star formation.

Also: a campaign that was also a community would be formidable!
🧵 Our mutual aid hub has been a HUGE draw for our immense volunteer base, many of whom have never wanted to be involved politics before now.

This model isn’t just about the immediate impacts: It’s about showing our values, building a community, and reaching voters — without selling our soul!
Turning campaigns into mutual aid hubs isn’t good for campaigns or mutual aid! Your campaign manager should be entirely too busy to schlep around 5600 tampons!

Mutual aid is inherently political and its a great chance to radicalize or at least educate people. Why do I have to get up at 7a on Saturday morning to feed people in the richest city in the world!

Thanks to everyone who donated this past week. Here is some shots from today's distro! We fed about 250 and also gave away masks, coffee, hygiene supplies and consensual hugs

One parishioner who lacks legal immigration status "learned about his rights for the first time at a freedom school and shared his new knowledge with his landscaping colleagues and neighbors, telling them not to open their doors during a warrantless raid.”
