Christ on a stick now Labour MPs are complaining about people using te reo during Māori language week...
"A Labour MP says Te Pāti Māori is starting to create an 'exclusive bunch of Māoris' after the party's co-leader spoke to journalists only in te reo Māori on Tuesday, but the Greens say it's not Rawiri Waititi's fault the system isn't set up for te reo Māori to be spoken and received."

Other political parties have weighed in, with one saying it was creating an "exclusive bunch" of Māori.

Good reminder how National Party supported Labour’s Covid response from Kieran McAnulty in parliament today.

Now they hope NZ forgets as they press on with Winston Peters (another Covid response enabler’s) kangaroo court.

Collins claims teachers get an average of $147K a year and 12 weeks off. If it's such a plumb gig why are we in a teacher shortage crises and importing overseas teachers? Something doesn't add up.

Finally an MP saying what we are all thinking
I'm sorry, but @beefaerie.bsky.social and @duncanwebbmp.bsky.social are fucking heroes for articulating the same reaction we all have when listening to Seymour's disingenuous bullshit. This is representative democracy at its finest.

Honestly as a country we are so lucky to have Te Ara and the quality that on it. I don't always agree with the editorial decisions but on the whole it is an amazing resource.
Ministry for Culture and Heritage cuts will deeply affect Te Ara Encyclopaedia of NZ, Dictionary of New Zealand Biography, NZHistory, Te Akomanga digital history curriculum support. Jock Phillips is right, "they are absolutely central to the education of NZers."
