A five-star review for Only Want to Be With You by London Price. A Love Song to the '90s: A Tender Queer Romance That Hits All the Right Notes This book may be short, but it truly packs an emotional punch. I felt instantly connected to the characters, and their journey pulled me in from the very first page. London Price does a wonderful job of balancing emotional depth with a steady, satisfying pace—the story never felt rushed, nor did it drag. Set in the mid-1990s, the atmosphere is beautifully captured. The period details, along with the very real obstacles the characters face in their path to love, add a richness that made the story feel layered and genuine. The dual POV was a great choice, letting me get close to both main characters and understand their feelings and motivations on a deeper level. Yes, there’s a third-act breakup (cue the drama!), but honestly? It didn’t take away from the overall joy of the story for me. If anything, it made the resolution that much sweeter. The spice level is on the lower side, but it’s tender and very much in tune with who these characters are. It felt real, and right. If you're looking for a short but emotionally fulfilling queer romance with heart, depth, and a touch of nostalgia, Only Want to Be With You is absolutely worth your time.
