Early modernist; lit professor. Lover of stage directions, textual instability, revenge tragedies, rain, Star Wars, gravy, Oregon, banana slugs, seagulls, and beards! I support trans rights. Thoughts mine own.

Only time I’ve ever needed stitches was because of a paper cut. 🤣
What's the most ridiculous way you ever hurt yourself? I got out of the tub, skidded in water and tripped over the toilet. Ankle sprain.

Will 2026 be kind to me by January 26th (a girl's birthday)? Thank you to those who helped with Pommy's transition. I had to start a gofundme account so I can travel to San Diego for a trial. Even if you can't give, please share. 1/2

Politicians introduced 96 bills targeting transgender student athletes in 2025.

That’s more than 9x the number of trans people playing college sports nationally.

Take action to defend NCAR today.
The Trump admin intends to dismantle the National Science Foundation National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR), one of the US' leading weather and climate research institutions.

We must urge Congress to halt this dangerous action immediately.

For this month’s @outsidemag.bsky.social column, I took a rat taxidermy class, and it was… surprisingly sweet? As the teacher said, “We’re reclaiming what’s beautiful and interesting about the things we’ve been told are bad or gross.”

I love my rat. His name is Meatball.

I am not From Here, so I have never really cared about the Sheetz v Wawa rivalry. I prefer Wawa simply because it has a better name, but also: the Wawa Thanksgiving sub is unfathomably superior to the Sheetz version. #HotTake

It costs so little to believe in one’s students. And when students feel supported and encouraged, they do magnificent work. Seems pretty straightforward to me.
