These bookshelves failed me, they’re mocking me here, but I did test their limits, they had every reason to fail and now they’re just yucking it up

apparently if you have a pack of notecards on your desk plastic wrapped, in your peripheral vision, you will mistake it's reflection of light for a phone notification once per hour and by this you will know you have been trained

Comics retailing legend Greg Ketter standing up to ICE in Minneapolis. Yes, that's tear gas. He's 70 years old.

did not know this is what that Bird Pattern is called. Huizenga did it in comics, it happens when i've tried to animate dots and lines without deciding they'd be a figure. Murmuration is natural and I reckon happens when any semi-sentient grouping is in synch
Something about the twist of birds. It's called a murmuration

On Purgatory panter made his own sigil, signatures are common but I think it’s worth considering, for any artist, can make a stamp of it too, it’s Ukiyo-e coded

everyone talks about the imaginative nature of Nemo, but they disregard him being able to draw him faceless, tiny, barely part of the strip sometimes. and also: curving all the panels. Curves must've costed at least 5 cents in 1910, had to order them from france, or trace the edge of a can of beans
Little Nemo in Slumberland by Winsor McCay from January 23, 1910.

as a consumer i have seen enough rage-posting against the common enemy of AI that i am now pleading that you bring more practical effects back to bluesky, i'm saying every time you are mad at something show me what your lunch was, new pair of socks, hell, maybe a drawing without context

sometimes i feel funny that i relied on loud, dark drone music to get me through a project for a year, isolating myself, which is still ongoing but has morphed, and then i think huh, i worked on a creative project and didn't sign up to be a fuckwad bootlicker with violent intent, things must be ok

working last night i listened to the knausgard book about edvard munch. it was nice, it covered the bases, but funny that after hours of reflection it ends with "you should probably just look at the paintings, but visiting norway helps too" like, no shit karl ove

if you see me carrying an inordinate amount of shells this year, know that i'm simply rallying 'round the family. and if you're reading this, it means you are the family, and i'll rage against anyone who says you are unworthy of true love, with the brute force of shells, coated in white cheddar

the 2026 Jim Woodring art calendar has birthdays of his favorite people in history listed for every day, but it does not include minor holidays, or notes on the moon cycle!! So looks like I'll be getting another basic themed calendar from the grocery store. Last 2 years were Orchids and Baby Goats

a visit home for holidays is a chance to escape my hoard of books and stuff, only to see the collection of younger me, and my mom's collection, then dad's. all the good stuff is back here, rubbermaid buckets in the garage...not a plea for less physical media but for more square footage in dry rooms.
