Need to challenge this pressure to urbanise everywhere - promoting active travel should not mean tarmac, heavy duty barriers and street lighting everywhere, especially not in woodland.

A huge part of the debate around Mahmood’s asylum plans is being missed: these proposals risk fuelling a shadow economy of exploitation – and making it even harder for trafficking victims to come forward.

Lots of ancient ‘graveyard/bone' tree specimens found including this 'harp' tree (as christened by Doug). Also an encouraging amount of tree regeneration appearing.🤞

Planetary health contributions often assume a single universal reality, but Indigenous movements and scholars propose many realities.

In my latest blog post, I explore why embracing multiple ontologies in planetary health could transform how we respond to climate and health crises.

In the newest contribution to the #planetaryhealth series on 𝘚𝘦𝘦𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘞𝘰𝘰𝘥𝘴, author @pimientac.bsky.social examines a theory of planetary health that acknowledges a “world of many worlds.” Might acknowledging relational and communication issues provide solutions for #ecologicalproblems?

Climate knowledge has been taken hostage to prevent climate action.

“It didn’t happen by accident. It’s the product of a deliberate and systematic assault on knowledge by some of the richest people on Earth. Preventing climate breakdown means protecting ourselves from the storm of lies.”
Dark forces are preventing us fighting the climate crisis – by taking knowledge hostage | George Monbiot
The fundamental problem is this: that most of the means of communication are owned or influenced by the very rich, says Guardian columnist George Monbiot

I too what like to see more impartial climate coverage, but that's not what the BBC's critics are calling for. They want more biased coverage that works in their favour by underplaying the scale of climate risks and the clean energy transition.

Great answer. No one wants to recognise the cost of doing nothing
Trevor Philips, "Prime Minister Keir Starmer is coming back from #COP30 having refused to put money into the tropical forest fund on the grounds that we can't afford it. He's right, isn't he?"

Zack Polanski, "No, it's outrageous. When it comes to climate, we have to look at the cost of inaction"
