I don't even know if "ace" is an identity I feel strongly about. I view the label as a less-than-accurate placeholder for the mulitfaceted nature of erotic experience and feeling that exists untethered from the sex act. Does "asexual" successfully describe that for me? I don't know. However (1/6)
The thing about some popular author insulting asexual people is nothing she said hasn't been said *directly to me* before by other popular authors. The hatred of aces isn't new.

A friend recently told me their son said it was "rude" to read books on airplanes, bc the overhead light disrupts other passengers' screen time. Meanwhile tech assholes are out there reengineering all cultural infrastructure to favor the most obnoxious shit imaginable.
