I wish Kevin McCloud would do a Grand Designs episode on this rather than another affluent couple making a house that’s way too big (and super ugly)

Sorry, didn’t mean to suggest it was taboo, only that it’s unusual reading group discussion! We talked a lot about how sex and age is often played for laughs on TV and how this doesn’t help when talking about quite important topics (like STI’s!)

We had the second session today of our de Beauvoir reading group on “Old Age” and we talked about old people having sex (you read that right), classism, and Victor Hugo’s bed
In the session, we’ll also talk more generally about the societal obsession with aging women and more!
Don’t forget to sign up to our new reading group! We’ll be meeting in two weeks to discuss the beginning of section 5: “The Discovery and Assumption of Old Age: The Body’s Experience” (pp.314-345 of the 1985 Penguin Modern Classics edition)

Ah I see! You could go for the bulky "marginalised hermeneutical resources" but I think your original suggestion was much clearer!

The hermeneutically marginalised? Could be a bit broad (and the word hermeneutic is just awful to look at imo)

This involved understanding how mental health professionals can support or prevent young people from feeling understood when they seek help. Epistemic injustice in clinical encounters is where one party has more authority and risks the other party’s contribution being sought or valued.
