I am a ghostly whisper, lost in sky, a stray thought ever fading, stubbornly asking why, wingtips glinting in starlight as through the frozen darkness I fly.

I'm an engineer / scientist / inventor who now mostly focuses on writing & music. Also, I'm a dragon, sort of. And sometimes confused, sort of. From time to time, I shall be posting photos of trees, cats, raccoons, owls, and deer from my tiny refuge of Jeffendell. (Plus some music, possibly.)
To all those who buy a car from this perpetually lying pile of drugged-up scum, you do indeed resemble him.
Hard as they tried, the so-called best and brightest minds of the right could never determine precisely when — or by what curious influence — their younger followers had turned to a harsher, more fanatical strain of their own bigotry.

‘Nickname’ is not ‘nick’ + ‘name.’
It was originally ‘ekename.’
‘Eke’ was the Middle English word for “also” or “in addition.”
Since ‘ekename’ began with a vowel, people used ‘an’ before it.
Over time, 'an ekename' became 'a nickname.'

My dad was a bomber pilot who bailed out when it caught fire & was in hospital for a year, where he met my mom. He loved planes & had a long career in aerospace. He helped design the rocket that later sent the Horizon probe to Pluto, & also helped design the C-5 Galaxy.

Today is Veteran’s Day. We honor those that have served our country. 🇺🇸
Did you know: Veteran’s Day is on November 11th because it marks the armistice signed between the Allies of WW1 & Germany, which took effect at 11:00 am: the "eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month" of 1918

Found the tweet that Joyce Carol Oates bodied Elon Musk with and it's so beautiful in its eloquent, simple take down. So much so he's crashing out trying to prove he reads books now. Put this in the Louvre.

“More and more cabinet members — Rubio, Miller, Noem — live on military bases now, & it's another parallel to Iraq, where the administration lived in the Green Zone. There’s something deeply unhealthy about a society where leaders are literally shut off from the communities that they govern.”

"Instead of surging in Iraq, it’s happening here in American cities."

Likely.
We are headed toward martial law and the end of our democracy and I will never forgive the people in power who every step of the way told us it was all just fine and everything would work out swell as long as we kept pretending that nothing we have actually seen with our own two eyes was happening

Polar bears can reach a top speed of 40 km/h, but rarely run. This poor guy was unfortunately scared off by an emergency helicopter that was landing to help a guest in distress. Thankfully, he didn't have to go far. #Mammals 🌿

So I had BOTH big Jagger cat + little Lucy kitten in my lap for about a half hour, while I was sitting outside under my radiant heater. Both purring like crazy. Lucy pushing her little face into Jagger's fur. Really cute.
(Wasn't able to get a photo since both my hands were occupied.)

Overcast & super cold, even with my radiant heater on full blast. Wind blowing. Three inches of leaves fell last night, prob because of the drastic temperature drop.

Trump could fund SNAP, just as he found money for Argentina and for farmers, but he is denying it for those most in need. 87,000 Travis County residents and 100,000 veterans across Texas rely on SNAP.

I've said it before, and I will say it again.
We need courageous leaders that put working families at the center of all they do.
8 democrats caving to empty promises is an indefensible leadership failure
For the sake of our country, Schumer needs to resign.
