I’m old and have a lot less at stake than many people. If I get arrested, I won’t lose my pension. If I get shot, I’ll lose 10-20 years of arthritis getting worse and worse. I have no reason not to rouse a little rabble.

In the 22 days since Renee was murdered I have patrolled 19 days. Some days I will go out a few times. It’s not fun. It’s cold and I’m tired. It’s awful in fact. I don’t know that it’s done any good. But I will keep going because maybe the next time I will be there when needed.
