Heyo! Here’s a good group of food folks to follow.
The team behind the magazine: We've put together a Heavy Table starter pack chock-a-block with writers / editors / artists / generally talented folks. Mostly but not entirely Minnesota-based. Lotta food knowledge in one place. Cheers!

Making a squash soup recipe from the NYT. Calls for “1 large butternut squash, about 1 1/2 pounds.” That’s a city squash, hon. Out here that’s a teeny weeny butternut.

A side trip to Bench Pressed Letterpress turned my day around. And now I’m the proud owner of a glow-in-the-dark mushroom pen too.

One of my neighbors is on the board at Sabathani Community Center. She notes that in 2024, they distributed 814,534 pounds of food, supporting 8,480 households and 17,529 individuals and that today they serve about 85 clients a day. They've started a year-end fundraiser: www.givemn.org/story/09w9zf

Spouse decided to make Tuna Hasselhoff for dinner tonight. I wish I could say it’s inexplicably beloved in Germany, but really, it’s fancy tinned tuna mixed with leftover rice, aged cheddar, sour cream, and whatever herbs are left in the garden. Maybe some lemon.
